Week 6.

As I made mention is my “bragging” post, last week I was pretty close with my picks for the games. Now, it was really all luck but I will continue to feel good about it. This week is a great week of games, so be sure to get comfortable on the couch and tune in all day Saturday. Here are the games I am looking forward too:

1. #1 Oklahoma @ Baylor– Ok, this game will PROBABLY be a blowout in favor of the Sooners, but I am really really liking Freshman QB Robert Griffin. He throws a nice ball and his running skills are as good as any quarterback in the nation. If he can make some plays and keep the OU defense on its toes, this game could be closer than everyone is expecting. Oklahoma is playing its first game as the #1 ranked team in the nation. Do they deserve the top spot? Probably. They have played some pesky teams so far this season and have dominated in every aspect of the game. The Sooner offense is one of the best in the nation, Sam Bradford is definitely not having a Sophomore slump. I think this game will be close well into the 3rd quarter, until Baylor makes a few mistakes to give it away to the Sooners.
My pick: Oklahoma 41 Baylor 28

2. Auburn @ Vanderbilt– For no reason at all my friend Neal and I have been Vandy fans since high school. I think the only reason why is because they were always HORRIBLE at football so we used them all the time on Playstation. Well, believe it or not the Commodores are undefeated and Vanderbilt was the chosen spot for ESPN’s College Gameday. That is USUALLY reserved for the weeks best game or most interesting game. This is definitely one of those games. Both teams have been having trouble moving the ball through the air, so watch for a pound it out type game. There will be a lot of run plays called in this one. This game is going to come down to two things: turnovers and whoever has the ball last. This will be a good one:
My pick: Auburn 16 Vandy 13

3. Oregon @ USC– This game probably seems like it will be a blowout, Oregon is down to its 19th string Quarterback. USC is at home and coming off the humbling loss to Oregon State last Thursday night. The Trojans lead the all time series 36-16-2, but the last 12 games have been split 6-6. The Ducks lead the Pac-10 in scoring (47.4/game) while the USC defense is a little nicked up. This game will definitely be a close one. Even though Oregon’s Qb’s are inexperienced, they will keep the Ducks in the game. Look for USC to come out strong with Oregon getting back into it in the 2nd half.
My Pick: USC 31 Oregon 27

Upset Pick of the Week: Purdue 28 Penn State 27
Obscure Pick of the Week:Rice 48 Tulsa 42- This game will have fireworks…on the field. They could combine for 100 points.
